Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (Deemed to be University), Karad (KIMS)

The Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences is a deemed-to-be university located in Karad, Maharashtra, India (KIMS). It was established in 1984, and in 2005 it was designated as an official university. The institution is accredited by both the Medical Council of India and the University Grants Commission (UGC) (MCI).

In a range of medical science fields, including medicine, dentistry, nursing, physiotherapy, and paramedical sciences, the university offers undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees.   • In addition to passing each of the four courses independently, a candidate must obtain at least a 50% total score in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English on the qualifying exam
  • For applicants who belong to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, or Other Backward Classes, the total marks in physics, chemistry, and biology must be at least 40%.
  • A NEET appearance is required for enrollment in the first year of the MBBS program at the University of All India.
  • An applicant needs to be NEET qualified.
  • To be eligible, students who are foreign nationals, non-resident Indians, or persons of Indian ancestry must fulfil the NEET qualifying requirements.
    Admission requirements for postgraduate programmes
  • After completing the Final M.B.B.S. Examination and obtaining State Medical Council registration, a candidate will be eligible for registration for a postgraduate degree provided he has satisfactorily completed a one-year rotating internship.”
  • No person is permitted to enroll in a postgraduate degree program unless they are capable of attending classes full-time and residing on campus for the necessary amount of time.
  • The candidate should be selected in conformity with the existing norms and regulations of the Medical Council of India.
  • Academic merit as determined by the NEET will be used to determine admission to degree and diploma programs; however, the minimum percentile needed to be admitted to postgraduate programs will be the 50th percentile or whatever is set by the Government of India at the entry.
  • The usual course of study for the postgraduate degree will span three years for the degree and two years for the diploma after completing a one-year rotating internship.
  • The study period will be shortened by one year if the student has completed a recognized two-year postgraduate diploma program in the same discipline.
  • Without a recognised MBBS degree or an equivalent qualification and permanent registration with the Medical Council of India or one of the State Medical Councils, which must be obtained within one month of the candidate’s admission date, the candidate’s admission will be cancelled.
